Should I Move to the Cloud???????

Recently came across a simple article on this question.

PaaS - Intro to Engineyard

Platform as a Service (PaaS) is a way to support the complete lifecycle of delivering web applications and services via the cloud. At Engine Yard, PaaS combines a development platform, computing resources, deployment infrastructure and managed hosting services, so you can reduce the cost, time and complexity of application development.

By taking advantage of Engine Yard PaaS, you can create applications using state-of-the-art tools; you can deploy them onto massively scalable, cloud-based infrastructure; and you can keep them running at peak performance.

For these reasons, PaaS has quickly evolved from a novel concept to a proven source of accelerated innovation, business agility and cost savings. PaaS gets you to the cloud model with optimum efficiency.
Research firm Forrester forecasts that the global market for cloud computing will grow from $40.7 billion in 2011 to more than $241 billion in 2020. Gartner predicts that the market will experience consistent growth with worldwide Platform as a Service revenue growing from $0.9 billion in 2011 to more than $27 billion in 2016.
